After attending the University of Ulster—yes, in Northern Ireland! —and graduating with a degree in economics from the University of Oregon in Eugene, it was a relatively quick and easy step back to hometown Portland— and, resultantly, the real estate business. You see, real estate’s in my blood: my mother’s been a longtime, accomplished Portland realtor, and I’ ve seen firsthand, over the years, how my mother’s hard work has helped people successfully get through what is often a difficult process. I have 17 years’ experience in the construction industry, from scrapping drywall out of new homes to owning my own residential remodeling company. My ability to research and analyze existing property helps me provide plenty of insight to our clients. I also have a background in marketing and public relations that furthers my ability to deliver the highest level of client happiness and satisfaction. I am an eighth generation Oregonian, whose family endured the Oregon Trail and Meek Cutoff to arrive here in 1845. The loyalty, integrity, and problem-solving qualities I bring to The MacNaughton Group start from this foundation. I’ve been living in Lake Oswego off and on for 20 years—since Mrs. Fenning’s first grade class at Palisades Grade School—so I know the area quite well.

I’ve worked in real estate since getting my real estate sales license in 1973, most of that time for an upscale Oahu, Hawaii, firm specializing in estates and oceanfront property. I managed that firm for most of the 18 years I worked there. With The MacNaughton Group, I’m responsible for listing and marketing coordination. My years of experience working closely with sellers help me anticipate problems and head them off, allowing for a seamless listing process that’s as stress-free for the seller as possible.

I like the full-service aspect of working with a team. Someone is always there to assist the client with his/her needs and to cover each other’s areas when someone is unavailable. We never drop the ball—that’s something I think our clients truly appreciate.

For the past six years I’ve been showroom manager for Neil Kelly Designers/Remodelers here in Portland, a position that’s involved planning, construction of, and accessorizing displays in showrooms and home shows; design and production of newsletters, mailers, cards; and photography and styling for professional photographers. Now I focus these skills on marketing our clients’ properties. My background and interests are art—I’m a calligrapher and book artist in my spare time; that is, when not in my garden or working on effective means to show property in its best light!
